Alice Marion Freimuth of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Ted Freimuth, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the age of 94 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Linda (Greg) Toma and Karen Ebel; five grandchildren, Amanda (Ben) Peters, Lindsey (Donall) Williams, Genaya Toma (Colin Reid), Joe (Nikki) Ebel and Shawn (James Odeen) Ebel-Odeen; seven great grandchildren, Morghan, Hannah, Rayden, Keira, Maximus, Jack and Samara; one great great grandchild, Amber-Lee; one sister, Elsie Harvey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ted on December 13, 2006; her son, Gerald on September 17, 2015; her son-in-law, Les Ebel on September 15, 2022, and her three brothers, Elroy, Leonard, and Richard.
Alice was born in the sod house on the family homestead near Horsham Saskatchewan. After graduating from Maple Creek High School, she began teaching as a study supervisor at Vabor School near Golden Prairie. She married Ted on September 30, 1954, and they built a house in Crescent Heights. Alice began teaching again at Vincent Massey School until they moved to a farm in the Tilley area where she continued teaching at Eastbrook Elementary until her retirement in 1989. After selling the farm, Ted and Alice returned to Medicine Hat. Her passion for teaching showed as she remained creative in play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When talking with Alice, you would soon know how much she loved Jesus.
