Anna Florence Robertson (Long)
It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Anna Florence Robertson (Long) announces her peaceful passing on June 2, 2026, at the age of 92, surrounded by family in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Anna was born on March 4, 1934, in Elk Point, Alberta, to Bud and Nellie Long. An only child, she spent her early years in the Elk Point area. Following the war, the family moved throughout Alberta wherever Bud's work took them, including Edmonton, teaching Anna adaptability and resilience from a young age.
At 16 years old, Anna moved to Lloydminster to work in a flower shop. It was there that she met a handsome young welding apprentice named John Cameron Robertson. Their love story began, and on October 26, 1953, they were married. Together they shared an incredible 72 years of marriage, living in Kamloops and Trail BC, Calgary, retiring in Elk Point and moving to Medicine Hat in 2014. 
Anna found joy in keeping busy and caring for others. Whether through her work as a talented floral designer, as a devoted homemaker, a Brownie and Girl Guide leader, or through volunteering with her church.
She embraced life wholeheartedly. Anna loved gardening, curling, sewing, crafting, baking, camping, entertaining guests, and spending hours visiting over coffee. Never one to slow down, Anna even took up aquasize classes in her 80s.
More than anything, Anna loved her family. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, Nana, and Gigi. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she delighted in every opportunity to spend time with them.
Those who knew Anna will remember her quick wit, feisty spirit, and infectious sense of humour. Though small in stature, she possessed a lot of personality and a big heart. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone she met feel welcomed and no stranger remained one for long.
Anna leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, John Cameron Robertson; her children, Robb Roy Robertson (Robin) and Marvia Jay Hawker (Murray); her grandchildren, Chase Robertson, Brett Hawker, and Brooke Burden (Dave); and her treasured great-grandchildren, Frankie and Mick Burden.
She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Brock Robertson.
Anna also leaves behind many dear friends who became family over the years, including lifelong friends Marvia Hickli (Hans) and Myrna Fedorus (Orset), as well as her second cousin, Reid Nichols, along with many extended family members, neighbours, and friends whose lives were brighter because of knowing her.

A Celebration of Anna's Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Pattison Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Centre, 540 South Railway Street, Medicine Hat, Alberta.
