Charles "Chuck" Thomas Switzer Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Chuck” Switzer on November 3rd, 2024. Born on January 15, 1946, Chuck was a loving husband, devoted father, and adoring grandfather who was treasured by his family and friends. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley Black, with whom he shared 44 wonderful years; his daughter, Dayna, and son-in-law Phil, and their son Jacob; his son, Stefan, and his family, including his granddaughter Maddie; and his brother-in-law Ron Wolodchenko, his wife Ingrid, and their daughter, Nicole. Known for his quiet sense of humor, Chuck earned the affectionate nickname "Chuckles," bringing joy to those around him with his wit and warm spirit.

Chuck worked for 33 years at Medicine Hat Co-op, where he was known for his reliability and kindness to colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, he was an avid sports fan with a lifelong passion for golf, baseball, and billiards. After retiring, he spent countless days on the golf course and continued to sharpen his skills in pool. A highlight of his golfing years was his achievement of three hole-in-ones, a testament to his dedication and talent. Chuck also loved baseball and often joked about how he could coach a team "into shape."

His legacy of kindness, humor, and family devotion will be cherished by all who knew him. Chuck’s memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the many fond stories that will continue to be shared in his honor.
