Clinton 'Clint' Kleinknecht Obituary

Clinton Kleinknecht of Manyberries, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the age of 68 years, beloved husband of Debbie Kleinknecht for 48 years.  Besides his loving wife Debbie, he leaves to cherish his memory three children, Carla (Rory) McArthur (Wynn and Nate); Shawn (Teresa) Kleinknecht (Kade, Kiana, Skyler and Trista); Darcy (Taylor) Kleinknecht (Emmett and Brinley) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.    He was predeceased by one son Devon; his parents John and Irene Kleinknecht (Kriwokon); one sister Betty Bohnet and one brother Don Kleinknecht; his mother and father-in-law Jean and Herb Nittel and one nephew Blaine Nittel.  Clint was born January 23, 1954 in Medicine Hat, AB.  He grew up on the family ranch near Manyberries, Alberta until the age of 10. After the passing of his father, John, he moved with his mother, Irene, to Medicine Hat, where he continued his education.  Clint returned to the family ranch at the age of 16 and worked alongside his brother Don.  In 1974, he married the love of his life Debbie Nittel and started their ranch together.  Their family grew with Shawn in 1974, Devon in 1977, Carla in 1984, and Darcy in 1987.  Clint was a very hard worker and loved the ranch life.  He wasn’t afraid of a challenge and in 1989, they purchased a small feedlot near Seven Persons.  After the passing of their son Devon in 1982, through the bible studies with Pastor Dave Shauf, Clint and Debbie accepted the Lord Jesus as their Saviour.  His faith in the Lord got him through many hardships including breaking his pelvis, BSE, and periods of drought.  In 2007, the feedlot was sold and his primary focus was the ranch.  Besides ranch work, Clint also enjoyed rodeo, hunting and fishing with his family.  He competed in team and calf roping and held events at the ranch.  Clint found joy in his family and spending quality time with them.  They were a highlight of his life and he prayed for his children and grandchildren every morning. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Shauf officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.  Those who wish to remember Clint with a donation, may do so to Whispering Pines Fellowship Centre and Camp, PO Box 23110, Medicine Hat Mall, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1B  4C7 or to HALO Air Ambulance (formerly Southern Alberta Medic Air Society) #12 - Airport Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 5G4.  Please make cheques out to HALO.
