Dale Brian Bailey Obituary
Dale Brian Bailey, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 74.
A proud graduate of Medicine Hat High School Class of 1969, Dale entered the workforce immediately, serving the Medicine Hat Catholic School District for six years. In 1975, he began a distinguished 36-year career with I.X.L. Industries. Though the 2010 flood shifted him toward semi-retirement, his work ethic never wavered; he was a familiar and friendly face as a delivery driver for Crestwood Pharmacy until health reasons led to his final retirement.
On February 12, 1972, Dale married his high school sweetheart, Carol. They shared a beautiful life until her passing on November 12, 1996. Together they had three children, Bradley, Ryan, and Brandi.
In 2000, Dale was fortunate to find love again with Barb. For the next 26 years, Barb was his devoted partner and spouse, standing by his side through every joy and challenge until his final day. Dale was a man of diverse passions who lived to support his children’s dreams. In his younger years, with his brother, Ken coaching, he was a fierce competitor in minor hockey and baseball alongside his brother, Gary. When he could no longer take to the field himself, he poured that competitive spirit into his family. He spent years cheering on his son, Brad and coaching his son, Ryan, passing on his deep love for the game to them. He was equally devoted to his daughter, Brandi, never missing an opportunity to cheer her on as she played baseball, softball or pursued her other passions. Whether he was calling a play from the dugout or beaming with pride from the sidelines, Dale’s greatest joy was being his children's biggest fan. When he wasn’t on the ice or the diamond, Dale could be found on the golf course, sitting in his leather rocker, cheering for his beloved Maple Leafs, in the kitchen cooking for his family, or quietly working on a cross-stitch project, a testament to his patient and multifaceted nature. Dale is survived by his loving spouse, Barb Lemna; his children, Brad (Jennifer), Ryan (Megan), and Brandi (Herb); his sister-in-law, Lucille; his brother, Gary (Glenda) and sister-in-law, Maxine (Henry) Schultz. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren, Kira (Chaseon), Braedon, Aidan, Hailey, Daniel, and Quinlan; his great-grandchildren, Aspen and Emery, and a large community of nieces, nephews, and friends. Dale was predeceased by his father, John, mother, Margaret, wife, Carol, brother, Kenneth, and sister, Doreen.
