Debra Benson Obituary

Debra Mae Benson, beloved wife of the late Douglas Norman Benson, passed away after a courageous battle with Cancer on December 26, 2022 at the age of 68 years.

Nan was a New Year's Baby born Jan 2, 1954. The oldest daughter born to Edgar Robinson and Matilda (Tillie) Menage. As a young girl the Robinson family moved to Medicine Hat, and this is where she called home for the remainder of her life.

In an Autumn wedding in 1972, she married Pa, and in 1974 they welcomed their only daughter Michelle. In 1995, their first granddaughter Shandler was born, and in 2002 they welcomed their second granddaughter Larkin.

Nan held many occupations in her life. A hairdresser, real estate agent, florist, merchandiser, teacher's aid, officially retired in 2021. It is safe to say she was a lifelong learner. She was also an avid artist, the family sous chef, she was fiercely competitive, especially during family crib tournaments, loved to visit with friends, two seater sports cars, and going for breaky. Mom was our family historian, she knew all the generations of stories, which she was more than happy to share. She was the first to celebrate our successes, and always wanted to cushion our blows. Thank you for loving us.

She will be forever missed, forever cherished, and forever loved.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the cancer clinic and 4 west for their service and dedication throughout Nan's journey, and a special thank you to Vicki for your friendship and unconditional love.

Family and Friends are invited to come celebrate the magic of Debra's life on February 23, 2023 at the MT Nest Cafe, located at #104-266 4th Street SW from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
