Dolores Estelle Rinke

Dolores Rinke of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at the age of  97 years.  Dolores Estelle Ristau was born on August 24, 1924 in Eastend, Saskatchewan to Milo and Genevieve Ristau.  She attended school in the Eastend and Lowelle area and lived in the Eastend area until she met Henry Rinke.  On February 28, 1942, she married Henry in Shaunavon.  They had three Carolina Noreen Rinke born on May 8, 1943, John Dallas Rinke born on October 7, 1946 and Bruce Rinke born on October 6, 1949.
  Together Henry and Dolores ranched in the Eastend area until 1956, when they moved to Maple Creek.  In 1986, they bought a house in Medicine Hat and in their later years moved to Southview Grand.  Henry passed away in 2000 and Dolores then moved to Meadowlands, Chinook Village and lastly to Good Samaritans.  Dolores was predeceased by her husband Henry, her parents, Milo and Genevieve Ristau, one son Bruce, a daughter-in-law Donna, son-in-law Keith Pettyjohn and by one brother Warren.  She is survived by her daughter Carol and grandsons, Trent, Kevin and Eric Pettyjohn; her son, John (Carolina) and his children Curtis (Vicky) Rinke and Corrine (Kevin) Gross; nine great grandchildren; one sister Jean (Ed) Lofgran; one brother Jim (Ann) Ristau; numerous nieces and nephews and her friends Ilene and Don Pettyjohn who were faithful and constant support for Dolores.  Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday from 12 noon to 12:55 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Dallas Hjorth officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Dolores with a donation may do so to the Good Samaritan, 550 Spruce Way S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1B 4P1.
