Doug Doran

Douglas Arthur Doran passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Houston, Texas at the age of 53 years.  Doug was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on November 9, 1969 and grew up on the family farm at Bow Island. He received his primary education at Bow Island and went on to graduate from the University of Calgary. From there he entered into the oil/gas pipeline integrity industry that took him to various parts of the world.  He is survived by his children Carly Doran and Brent Doran, their mother Tanya, his parents Terry and Jacquie Doran, his sister Stephanie Smith, his nephew Cameron Smith and niece Abby Smith, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.  Doug was predeceased by his grandparents Art and Margaret Doran and Joseph and Catherine Schlachter. 

The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church (Bow Island) on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Wojciech Jarzecki celebrant.   Interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery with a luncheon following at the Bow Island Royal Canadian Legion.
