Harvey Allen Sackman Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey Allen Sackman, who left us peacefully in Medicine Hat, Alberta, on May 13, 2025, at the age of 90.

Harvey dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving McGavins Bakery in Redcliff where he was known as "the Breadman", where his warm smile was a staple for many. His contributions to the community extended beyond the bakery, as he was also known for his gentle spirit and kind words, always ready with a thoughtful remark to brighten someone's day.

In retirement, Harvey found joy on the fairways of Connaught Golf Course, where he continued to embrace life with enthusiasm while caring for the grounds and cutting the fairways.
Harvey was married to his beloved wife, Annie, for an incredible 69 years. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories, filled with laughter and love.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Annie, and their son, Alan. Harvey was also a proud grandfather to Trevor (Alysha) and Aimee (Conal), and a loving great-grandfather to five beautiful great-grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward. He is also survived by his brother Cliff, and his two sisters Gladys (Jack) and Marge (Neil).
He is preceded in death by his parents Gottlieb and Linda, his son Glen, and his brothers Roy, Bennie, and Stan.

Harvey's kindness, humor, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Private Family Graveside service will be held in Redcliff Cemetery.
Those who wish to remember Harvey with a donation, may do so in his honour to the charity of your choice.
