lain McKay of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Jean McKay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at the age of 80 years. He is lovingly remembered by his sons, James (Linda) and Dale; two stepsons, Randy (Pam) Gruber, and Todd (Teri) Gruber; three grandchildren; one great-grandson and one on the way, arriving in September 2025. Iain was predeceased by his parents, Grant and Mildred McKay; two brothers, James and Don and his son, Brad. He married Jean on December 31, 1980. Iain was employed with Canadian Pacific Railway for 32 years and retired at the age of 55 so he could pursue his love of golf. He was extremely proud of his comradery with Table 6. 

We will miss his rapier wit, his intellect in trivia and his stubborn ways.

The celebration of Iain’s life will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating.
