It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Jeanna Elizabeth Harju, beloved wife of Mark Harju of Medicine Hat, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with family by her side, at the age of 53 years. 

Born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Jeanna graduated from Churchill High School and continued her educational endeavors through college where she gained her Business Administrative Diploma, and started working at Sears, and eventually moving onto Sobey’s later in her CSR career. 

Jeanna moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 2003 where she eventually built her dream home; a place where memories were always made with those closest to her. She continuously built a life she was proud of around her family whom she loved with her whole heart, especially her daughters and who they grew up to become.  Her life was spent having family BBQ's, beach days, water fights, and sleepovers with her grandsons.  She was in attendance at every event that her grandsons were a part of, and was their biggest cheerleader in any accomplishment big or small.

Anyone who knew Jeanna knew that she was the biggest Bon Jovi fan, a girl who had the tattoos and concert memorabilia to prove it! She had seen him in concert three times, and would still be the first person to grab tickets to see him again. Although the concerts didn’t stop there, she would see anyone from Metallica to Shania Twain. 

Jeanna is predeceased by her mom, Bonnie Bailot, and survived by her dad, Noris Bailot; her husband, Mark; her daughters, Myranda (Braden), and Katelyn (Kyle); her grandsons, Noah and Oliver, who were her pride and joy she loved with her whole heart; her sister, Mandy (Jason); her nieces Jalynn (Nick) and Madison; her great Nephews Kayson, Braxton and great niece Lennon and her Aunt Judy (Rod). 

Jeanna will forever be missed and loved by her family and this loss will forever leave a hole in our hearts. 

For those who wish to celebrate Jeanna’s life a Memorial Reception will be held at the Pattison Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Centre from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with words of remembrance held at 3:00 p.m.
