Jim Geiger Obituary
James “Jim” Geiger, beloved husband of Doreen Geiger of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at the age of 80 years. Jim was born in Liebenthal on the family farm to Jack and Catherine Geiger. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, biking, willow furniture, church ministry, walking and helping others. Throughout his life Jim worked at North West Nitro, Western Co-operative Fertilizer and Trans Canada Pipeline. Jim was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Besides his loving wife Doreen, Jim is survived by his two children, Shawn (Karen), Stacey Pisoni, and his special niece Darla (Merle) Bossert; four grandchildren, Andrea (Will), Cam (Channia), Aidan (Emily), and Jonas; four siblings, Antionette Churchhill, Harvey Geiger (Anne), Jerome Geiger (Rosemarie Sackela Geiger), and Tim Geiger (Carmen Gill); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Catherine Geiger; his sister, Angela Farrer; his sister-in-law, Berna Ensz; his brothers-in-law, Gerald Churchhill and Harvey Ensz; his son-in-law, Mario Pisoni; his in-laws; Katherine and Ed Neitz and Nick and Ann Getz.
Family and friends will gather for prayers at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Vijaya Bathineni celebrant. A family tribute will start at 12:50 p.m. prior to the funeral mass. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to both prayers and mass.
Interment will follow in the HILLSIDE CEMETERY.
Those who wish to remember Jim with a donation, may do so to the St.Vincent De Paul Society (1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1B 4V3).
