It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Gordon Carter on December 24, 2024. John was a remarkable man whose love, kindness and sharp sense of humour left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. John was predeceased by his son Erik and is survived by his loving partner Sandy Clemis, son Brody Carter (Anja), step-sons Kris Clemis-Love (Lisa), Kasey Clemis (Corrina), sister Jeannie Denton (John), grandchildren Knox, Arya, Robert, Typh, Landon and Karter; neices, Kelly McRae and Ashley Detilleux, Kelly and Ashley’s children Makenna, Olivia, Holden, Ella and Mila. As a devoted father, John taught his family the value of passion-whether it was for golf, food, coffee or simply cherishing time with loved ones. Family and friends were of the utmost importance to John. He brought people together with his love of cooking and his legendary barbecue "Meat fests". These gatherings would be filled with laughter and often carried onto the early hours of the morning. Backyard fires and a few wee drams of Scotland's finest single malts were often included.  
John's humor was truly one of a kind. Whether it was a clever quip, a perfectly timed joke or a playful story, he had an incredible ability to make people laugh. His voice graced the airwaves as a beloved radio host for many years, where he connected with countless listeners through his charm, authenticity and of course, his humor. Above all, John was a man devoted to his family. He embodied care, compassion and unwavering support, always putting family first and inspiring those around him to do the same. He will be deeply missed but his legacy of love, laughter and passion will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

John’s family has decided to have a private celebration of his life with family and close friends.
