John Howard Goguen, beloved husband of Dolores Goguen of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the age of 62 years.  

Besides his loving wife Dolores, John leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Crystal (Dave) and Melissa (Joel); seven grandchildren, Tabetha, Charles, Hunter, Trevor, Charlie, Jordan and Angela; four sisters, Barb, Sherry, Marilyn and Kelly; his brother, David; two brothers-in-law, Jack (Darlene) and Don (Bonnie) and his special friends Mike and Karen. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Sandy; his brother, Butch (Larry) and his sister, Ann Marie.

John was born on December 18, 1962, in St. John, New Brunswick. As a child his family moved to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia where he participated in the Army Cadets.  John moved to Medicine Hat when he was a young man, and he worked at the Royal Hotel as a bouncer. He then went on to work at the A&W, Pizza Hut, Pony Express, the Garage Pub, Brewmaster, then to CFB Suffield as a cook. John was an amazing cook!!
John was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan. He loved camping and hunting with his dad.  John and Dolores enjoyed travelling with their friends, Mike and Karen, travelling to Las Vegas, Hawaii, and taking many camping trips. So many fun and happy memories were made.
John had a wonderful sense of humor and lit up every room he walked in to. He was caring and loving to everyone around him. He cherished his daughters and grandchildren, he was the most amazing husband to Dolores and he was a wonderful brother to all, whether you were related or not. 

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the Medicine Hat ICU, the Medicine Hat Day Clinic and the Arthur J. E. Child Cancer Centre in Calgary  for all their kindness, love and support throughout John’s illness.

The funeral service  will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Thursday, November 20,  2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating. The service will be live streamed.
