Joyce Knops Obituary

Joyce Knops Obituary

Marlene Joyce Knops, beloved wife, best friend and life partner of Dale Knops of  Foremost, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025.  With Dale by her side, holding her hand, she passed away peacefully leaving Dale heartbroken.  Knowing that she is now pain free will help mend his broken heart.

Joyce was born in Medicine Hat to Charles and Emma Weiss.  She enjoyed a life with many friends, got her teaching degree from the University of Edmonton and started what she always said was the best job in the world, teaching elementary students.

Joyce and Dale got married on July 2, 1985, and spent the last 40 years enjoying their life together.  Their passion was taking their 5th wheel and camping all through western Canada and the United States.  I can tell you that is not coffee in her cup but a nice wine.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Dale; her three fur babies; her sister, Sharon Weiss; her sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Bill Behrman and their sons and families; sister-in-law, Brenda Knops and her daughters and family, as well as many cousins and friends. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Emma Weiss; her in-laws, Willard and Annie Knops, and brother-in-law, Allan Knops.

A private graveside service will take place in the Hillside Cemetery.

Those who wish to remember Joyce with a donation, may do so to the S.P.C.A. (55 Southwest Drive SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 8E8).
