Katherine Louise McKillop Obituary

Katherine Louise McKillop, beloved wife of Colin McKillop, of Irvine, AB, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at the age of 66 years.  She also leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Ashley (Brandon) Norlie; two grandchildren, Adelyn and Emmy; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many dearly loved family members and friends who became family.   Kathy was predeceased by her parents Spence and O’Linda.

Kathy was born on February 17, 1959, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories to Garnet (Spence) and O’Linda Spencer.

She had a passion for people and made lifelong friendships early and often.  Kathy was very close with her family, and her grand daughters, Adelyn and Emmy, were her pride and joy and she spent as much time with them as she could.  She attended church regularly and created deep bonds with her ‘church ladies”.  Kathy had a passion for all animals, especially her dogs and cats.

She was known for her quick wit and humour, as well as her kind and loving soul.  Kathy was her own person through and through, and she will be forever missed and always loved by those she leaves behind.

A private Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery with Rev. Kristy Reiners-Loader officiating.  Those who wish to remember Kathy with a donation, may do so to “The Oscar Fund” through the Animal Medical Centre South by calling 403-527-4888.
