Larry Clifford Weiss of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Linda Weiss (Yanke), passed away on December 29, 2024, at the age of 80. 
Larry was predeceased by his wife Linda, his sons Scott and Lee, and his parents. He is survived by his youngest son Lyle (Renae) Weiss, his cherished grandchildren Cobey, Bodee, and Ryker, his sisters Brenda (John) Stopanski and Sharon (Dale) Roberts, and his brothers Glen (Betty Ann) Weiss, Gilbert (Laura) Weiss, and Dale (Melissa) Weiss. Larry will also be dearly missed by his special friend, Julie Seefried.
Born on June 2, 1944, to Arthur and Alice Weiss, Larry grew up in the Manyberries and Elkwater area. He married Linda Yanke on June 2, 1967, and they had three sons, Lee, Scott, and Lyle. Sadly, Scott passed away just days after his birth.
His long career included working with Alberta Transportation and 35 years with Alberta Parks and Recreation. Larry also worked as a security guard for the Medicine Hat College and then the Medicine Hat Hospital until his retirement. 
A talented calf roper in his youth, Larry also enjoyed, hunting, fishing, golfing, music and dancing. He enjoyed playing music on his guitar and accordion and was known for DJing local dances with his famous mixed tapes. He also became a fixture in the curling community, both as a player and as a volunteer. He also served as a volunteer Fire Captain in Elkwater and contributed to numerous community projects, from maintaining the local ice rink to sharpening skates. After moving to Lac La Biche his service extended to roles as an auxiliary constable with the RCMP and a volunteer for Victim Services.
 
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, January 5 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.
