In Loving Memory of Lily Willems (née Wiens)
With sadness and grateful hearts, we announce the passing of Lily Willems, a woman whose beautiful smile, kindness, and helpful spirit touched those she met. She loved board games, laughter around the table, and the simple joy of being together with family and friends.
Lily lived her life with a steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. Her final message to those she loved was filled with peace and certainty:
“Please do not weep for me. Be happy for me — I am rejoicing, for I am with Jesus, who gave His life for me, died for me on the cross, rose from the grave, and went to heaven to prepare a place for me.”
She leaves behind a large and loving family:

Predeceased by:
Parents Peter and Maria (Derksen) Wiens, husband Lawrence Willems, granddaughter Sadie Wiggins, brothers Gerhard Wiens, Herb Wiens, Reuben Wiens, Ed Wiens, sisters Rose Penner, Violet Paris
She believed deeply that love continues beyond this life and offered this final hope: “May we all meet again in heaven. Come to Jesus. He says, ‘Come — I love you all.”
Lily’s legacy is one of faith, gentleness, and unwavering love. She will be remembered always and missed deeply.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chinook Village Terrace Room, Saturday August 8, 2026 at 2pm.
In Lieu of Flowers and Trees Lily Willems asked for donations to be made to Prairie Gleaners Society (Po Box 656, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 7G6).
