Margaret Rose Skretting (Crowson), formerly of Vauxhall, Alberta, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the Medicine Hat Hospital, on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 77 years. 

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, Sub (2024); her son, Leslie (2010) and her daughter, Rose (2025), along with many other family members and friends.

Margaret’s memory will always be remembered and cherished by her loving daughter, Crystal (Berton Toma); her grandchildren, Brandon Dalton (Jaylene Rabb), Gunner Skretting, Jordan Roll, Miranda Roll (Cameron Nicoll), Trinity Kopp and Kelsey Dalton; her two great grandbabies, Nataya and Navonte Dalton and her son-in-law, Kevin Roll.

Margaret was born in Vidora, Saskatchewan on July 18, 1948, and was the tenth of eleven children of Bill and Irene Crowson.  Margaret grew up primarily in the Vauxhall area where she met and married Sub and later raised three children.  Margaret was always a hard worker and held many jobs; some that really stand out are Bell’s Poultry Plant, cleaning houses, Old Dutch, and then finally, for multiple years, she very proudly was the custodian alongside her husband, Sub, for the Vauxhall Junior-Senior High School.  When she wasn’t working at a job, she was working to maintain a beautiful home and yard, flourished in colors.  Margaret relaxed with a good book, a favourite show like Knots Landing, and spent many hours in her yard “putsing” as she would call it.  She loved camping, going for walks, bike rides and just the simple little things.

Margaret loved life and everyone she met along the way.  She was filled with love and laughter and brought that wherever she went.  Please join her family one more time, to share in love and laughter as they celebrate Margaret’s life and the beautiful person that she was.  A memorial will take place at the Legion Youth Center (Also known as the Legion Campground, 7211 50 St. Taber, Alberta), on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
