Maria Albina Henriques

Maria Albina Henriques (nee: DaSilva) of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the age of 92 years, beloved wife of the late Jose Henriques.  She will be greatly missed by her daughter Julia (Brian) Trafford; her grandsons Josh (Cheyenne) and Jordan; her sister Maria Lurdes Moniz together with many nieces and nephews.  Maria was predeceased by her husband Jose, her parents, Adelina and Ernesto Amaral; three brothers, Jose, Joao, and Manuel Amaral and her sister Maria Garcia.  Maria moved to Canada from Pico, Acores, Portugal and to Medicine Hat in 1964, after marrying Jose in July of 1963.  In 1975, she became a Canadian Citizen.  Maria was a devout Catholic, loving wife, mother and grandma.  She loved gardening, enjoyed fishing at Reesor Lake, camping and spending time with her grandsons.  Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff and nuns that cared for her at Father Lacombe Care Centre in Calgary.   Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church one hour prior to mass.  The funeral mass will be celebrated in ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on   Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Fr.
