Marion “Baba” Anne Kathleen Leis, of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Parkinsons disease on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 80 years. She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Gary (Jan) Leis and Tim (Colleen) Leis; six grandchildren, Sarah Leis (Daniel), Victoria Leis, Rachael Joseph (Paul), Dustin Desanko (Kennedi), Brenden Leis, and Tiffany Desanko (Esteban) and the father of her children, Adolf Leis (Bonnie). She was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Georgette Didack; her brother, Nicholas Didack, and her daughter, Lanette Desanko. Marion was born on June 28, 1945, in Camrose Alberta, to Michael and Georgette Didack. She attended St. Marys School in Medicine Hat and then Beauty School in Lethbridge. Marion worked at the family Texaco Service Station and coffee shop before moving on to hairdressing and then to Macleods department store eventually running a dayhome for 25 years. She had many hobbies including; crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking, baking, and visiting with her beloved grandchildren. Marion was also a member of The Canadian Royal Purple Society.
Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held in the VICTORY LUTHERAN CHURCH on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roland Weisbrot officiating.
