Paul Richard Schmaltz

Paul Richard Schmaltz, beloved husband of Arlene Schmaltz of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the age of 81 years.  Paul was always eager to help his family. He was talented at working with his hands and solving mechanical problems.  Paul’s carpentry skills included building furniture for home, children and grandchildren.  His stained glass hobby provided his family with many varied and creative gifts and treasures.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed time with his grandchildren - golfing, fishing, going to the park and attending their sporting events.  Above all, Paul had a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ his Savior.  John 3:16.  He will be deeply missed by all of us.  Besides his loving wife Arlene, Paul leaves to cherish his memory, his two children, Rick (Terri) Schmaltz and Deanna (Jerry) Lennox; his four grandchildren, Coleton and Regan Schmaltz and Skylar and Kassidy Lennox; his sisters, Marlene (Jim) and Mickey and his brother, Peter (Cindy).  He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Theresia and his four sisters, Carol, Lorraine, Irene and Annette.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
