On Friday, June 12th, 2026, heaven welcomed an angel and Phyllis Lucille Spiker was reunited with her dance partner Ray. Mom passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice in Medicine Hat, Alberta, peacefully with her children by her side.
Phyllis leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Allyson (Rick) McCaw, Wayne (Shawn) Spiker, Terry (Karen) Spiker and Shelley (Wayne) Spiker; her precious grandchildren, Aaron (Nahid) McCaw, Devon (Alex) McCaw, Cody Spiker, Coral (John) Spiker, Tanis (Nic) Spiker, Jarrett (Wendy) Spiker, Kurt Spiker and Lexis Woitas and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Ella.
Mom was born on January 1, 1936, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Ole and Eva Moen. She was raised and attended school in the community of Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan. She married Ray Spiker on November 2, 1956, and made Pennant her new home. They farmed the Spiker homestead until retirement to Medicine Hat in 2006.
The family wish to thank Meadowlands Retirement Home for Mom's excellent care over the last 7 years and a special acknowledgement to the compassionate care Mom received at Saint Joseph's Hospice. There are truly angels among us.
A graveside service will take place in the Pennant Cemetery in Pennant, Saskatchewan, on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration following at the Pennant Senior Hall.
