Richard Warren Howell of Maple Creek, beloved husband of the late Caroline Howell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the age of 86 years.  

Richard was born on April 7, 1939, at the family farm by Robsart, Saskatchewan, to Walter and Annie Howell.  Being raised on the farm gave him a passion for farming, and in turn, he continued farming on the same family farm into his adult life.  Richard also became an electrician, eventually owning his own business in Maple Creek, Howell Electric, which he ran with his son Shane for almost 50 years.  

Richard leaves to cherish his memory his two daughters, Wendy Howell and Lori Howell; his daughter-in-law, Roberta Howell; five grandchildren, Lexie Knudtson (Andrew), Nolan Peterson (Haven), Dave Currah (Cheryl), Christine Currah and Ashley Caddy (Courtney); his three sisters-in-law, Agnes Howell, Toni Chadwick and Judy McVee (Greg); his brother-in-law, Richard Weinberger (Aura Lee); his five great grandchildren, Quinn Knudtson, Colsen and Macy Currah and Caroline and Hayley Calder as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Besides his loving wife, Caroline, Richard was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Annie Howell; his son, Shane Howell; his three brothers, Kenneth Howell, George Howell and Vern Howell; his two sisters-in-law, Violet Howell and Rene Volkman; and his two brothers-in-law, Robert Volkman and Blaine Chadwick.  

The celebration of life will be held in the ELK'S HALL (512 5th Ave, Maple Creek) on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Interment will take place in the Maple Creek Cemetery at a later date.
