Robert was born to Nick and Theresa Hellman on January 3, 1937.  He attended elementary school at Prospect Valley, and continued his studies at St. Thomas College in North Battleford.
Robert loved farming and raising cattle, he spent his whole life enjoying his work! Robert and Delores built the family farm in 1959, where they raised their children and shared a life rooted in hard work, faith and love. In 1964, Robert and Delored owned and operated Hellman Motors in Richmound. They stayed on the farm until 1999, when they moved to Medicine Hat.  Robert loved being involved in different groups in Richmound, which included, being a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, in addition to being a charter member of the Richmound Lions Club, since 1984. He was also a member of the Richmound Credit Union Board, The Richmound School Board, St. Mary's Parish Council  and the Holy Family Parish council as well as being on the team of workers there for many years.  One of his greatest accomplishments was being on the Fox Valley #171 RM council, which he enjoyed from 1979 - 1995.

Robert was a very devoted servant of the Lord, he prayed daily for everyone, and interceded on their behalf. He loved his family and was an amazing father and grandfather. Nothing brought him more Joy than his family - especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his eyes would light up when they entered the room. Robert had a special bond with the staff at Meadowlands, and enjoyed each and every interaction with them. Dad always shared candy with the staff and visitors, insisting they take "one, or two" every time. His kindness and warmth were felt by all who cared for him. The family would like to thank all the staff at Meadowlands and 5E, especially Jolene and JaraLee, who took such loving care of grandpa. We also offer our heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph's Carmel Hospice for the kindness and compassionate care dad received, it was amazing.
