Roger Charles Parsonage Obituary

Roger was born on December 7, 1948 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. Roger will always be remembered for raising good, reputable cattle and for wheelin’ and dealin’ horses. He may not have remembered a person’s name, but his memory of a horse or cow was like no other. He spent many hours horseback in his earlier life and later on in the buggy to get around the ranch. His love for music was notable from recalling a good song, picking a mandolin, playing a bass guitar, or any other instrument his hands came upon. He was always up for a good visit and laugh while having a smoke, a cup of coffee, or a drink of scotch or rum. He was very proud of his kids, his grandchildren, and the land on Merryflat, land of Cypress Hills, and the banks of Battle Creek.

He was predeceased by his mother Laura, father Graham, sister Bertha, and brother Wilkes.  Roger is survived by his wife Lou Parsonage of 52 years, along with son Chuck (Kyley), son Jess, grandchildren Louise, Olivia, Kellee, Robert, and Houston, brother-in-law Garry Wakely. sister-in-law Joan Parsonage, as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Donations on Roger’s behalf can be made to STARS Air Ambulance.

A celebration of Roger’s life will take place at the Maple Creek Armoury on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CST with Life Celebrant David Townsend officiating.

Interment will take place at the Maple Creek Cemetery.
