Rudolf Richter Obituary

Rudolf Richter Obituary

Rudolf RICHTER (“Rudy” as he liked to be called) went to be with the Lord on January 21st, 2026, in Medicine Hat.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marlene. The two were inseparable... Where you saw one, you saw the other. They did everything together. Also left to cherish his memory are sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law – Brenda and George Yeomans, and Bonita and Dusty Hicks, Gwyn Peters, and Wayne Peters and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Reinhold and Lydia Richter and brothers, Ewald, Emil and Paul, and sisters Lilly, and Hulda.Rudy came to Canada with his parents, his family having fled the war, to Germany. His mother was a strong Christian and brought her children up to serve the Lord. Rudy loved the Lord with all his heart, and his faith was a testimony to all who knew him. He took up the trade of welding and with his excellent work ethic pushed himself to be manager of the construction of oilfield equipment.

Loyalty and devotion was never more evident than with his wife and best friend, Marlene. They said their marriage was arranged in Heaven. The two of them travelled extensively, visiting a different corner of the world every year. Those vacations were enjoyed as a couple. They made friends wherever they went with many of those acquaintances becoming lifelong friendships. Rudy was successful in the balance of working hard, playing hard and loving well. He was loving, devoted, intelligent, strong minded, tough and ambitious. His loss will be felt by many, a void impossible to fill. Our lives were better for having had him in them. Rudy was a gift to us that will forever be treasured, forever be missed, forever be remembered and forever be loved.
