Stanley Straub of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Shirley Straub, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the age of 65 years. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Damon (Lilly) and Gary (Erica); two grandchildren, Hayden and Evelyn; one sister, Sylvia. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Lilly Straub; two brothers, Gorden and Eddy.
Stanley was born March 19, 1960, in Red Deer, Alberta to Fred and Lilly Straub. When Stan was young, he would take his pillow out to the sidewalk and watch his mother as she gardened. Throughout his life he worked a variety of occupations, most notably working as a plumber. Besides causing trouble he had many hobbies and interests such as hockey, baseball and watching curling. Stan loved to swim and enjoyed teaching his children to swim. He always liked making sausage and pickling. People would say he made the best pickles and pickled watermelon! One memory his sister Sylvia has is of him crossing the street and getting hit by a car.
A celebration of Stanley’s life will take place in the summer of 2026.
