Stephen Joseph McElroy of Medicine Hat, husband of the late Yvette McElroy, passed away after a courageous battle on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the age of 88 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Suzan McElroy and Sandra McElroy, his  grandchildren, and his great grandson.  

Stephen was born in Toronto, Ontario on May 11, 1937. He enjoyed a long career in the Air Force and was a member of the Legion. Stephen found pleasure in his TV shows, a good meal, a cold glass of red wine, and playing cards with family and friends.  

The funeral service will be held in the Assumption Parish Church in Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.  

Interment will follow in the Beechwood Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
