Steve will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Steve was born on May 9th, 1958, in Montreal, Quebec. However, as a young child, it was in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where he found his home and remained until his passing.
After raising five wonderful and unique children, Steve married the love of his life, Debbie, and they started their life together full of love, happiness, fun and adventure.  They got married as clowns in Vegas at the Little White Chapel. Wedding photos at Circus Circus. In just this short period of time, they have shared a lifetime of music, dance and travel together. Cancun, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, a Cruise to the Hawaiian Islands, Chicago for Deep Dish Pizza, Florida, Arctic Circle, Dawson City, Watson Lake, Whitehorse, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec to  name a few!

Some of their fondest memories together were, kissing Debbie on top of an erupting volcano on Valentines Day and surprising Debbie with a trip to Spokane to hear Air Supply on Valentines Day.
Steve had many hobbies and interests, including: chainsaw carving, golf, making their house a home by landscaping and renovating, being an animal lover, he even had a Beta fish that would swim up to get petted! Some of his special pets were a cockatiel named Butter and three special dogs, Angel, Shadow and Copper.

Steve had a wide array of careers including being a Journeyman Welder, 15 years at CHAT TV and HAT Cable 10, as a Master Control Operator, Cameraman, News Director and training volunteers in television production. He acquired a Social Work Diploma that opened new doors such as setting up the Outreach Program for low income housing, CEO of the Foodbank, and working in the Alternative Justice Program at the John Howard Society. He was also a Substitute Teacher in the Yukon, a Cabinet Maker at Moduline, and a School Bus Driver.
Steve loved his career as a DJ which he did for 20 years at the Corona Night Club.
He was known as Dancing DJ Steve for weddings, school dances and events through his wife's business, Jack n' Jill Parties. Through this party business, he became Bob the Clown and a magician.

Steve made friends wherever he went with his big smile, uplifting humour, genuine kindness and concern for others.

He enjoyed  witty banter with his mother-in-law, Vivian Bergstreser, and had a special place in his heart for his sister-in-law, Jennifer Duncan, his brother-in-law, Jordan, his nieces, Paige and Summer, as well as his sister-in-law, Shannon.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the HARMONY HALL in Redcliff, AB, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with his sister-in-law, Deborah Foley officiating.
