Velma Darlene Kienzle Obituary

Velma Darlene Kienzle of Bow Island, beloved wife of the late Ruben Kienzle, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the age of 95 years. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Blain (Cathy) Kienzle, Judy (Randy) Headrick, Sharon Rudd; her daughter-in-law, Anieta Kienzle, and her son-in-law, Terry Lane; twelve grandchildren, Cameron (Nicole) Kienzle, Wade Kienzle, Megan Kienzle, Erin (Landon) Vegter, Jennifer Headrick-Neill, Nelson Headrick, Laurae Rudd, Kaylin Rudd, Jordan Kienzle, Adam Kienzle, Shane (Tina) Lane, and Jessa (Aaron) Addison; twenty three great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Shirley McClellan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Ruben Kienzle; her parents, Ken and Blanche McClellan; her son, Rodger Kienzle; her son-in-law, Ken Rudd; her daughter, Debby Lane; her granddaughter, Desiree Kienzle; one brother, Lloyd McClellan; four sisters, Grace Anderson, Myrtle Heatherington, Pearl Switzer, and Mary Geier. Velma was an excellent painter and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was an active volunteer in the community with the St Andrew’s U.C.W and the Bow Island Women Institute. 


The funeral service  will be held in the St. Andrew’s United Church (139 - 2nd West, Bow Island, Alberta) on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. The service will be live streamed.  Those who wish to attend virtually, please the following link or click the button below: https://www.youtube.com/@pattisonfuneralhome7497/streams


Interment will follow in the Bow Island Cemetery.
