Wayne Keetley of Medicine Hat passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; sons, Shayne (Mariel) and Garet; sister, Joan Riegel; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Lynn (Mike) Durbeniuk, Rud (Doreen), Laurie (Trish), Kevin (Patty), and Randy (Rose) Henderson, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Yvonne Keetley; in-laws, Ron and Agnes Henderson; and brother-in-law, Grant Henderson.
Born and raised in Medicine Hat, Wayne started in the family business, Keetley Sheet Metal and Roofing. With his father’s guidance, he built the home that became the heart of family life.
Wayne later joined the Medicine Hat Police Service, where he served with pride for many years. He was instrumental in launching the city’s 9-1-1 system.
Following retirement, Wayne worked for Simply Water and later became head of security at the Medicine Hat Mall.
A passionate photographer, Wayne loved capturing images of prairie barns and rural life. He often built custom frames from reclaimed wood. He also found daily joy walking through Kin Coulee Park with Debbie and their dogs, Rollo and Neo.
Wayne’s greatest pride was his family. He remained closely connected to his sons and daughter-in-law, always sharing a call, a laugh, or a text.

The celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
